Residencies for foreign artists in Denmark promote the exchange between the Danish and the international art worlds and in regocnition of this fact, the Danish Arts Council has established its own artist-in-residence program in Denmark, DIVA, starting in 2006.

The evaluation of proposals for residency in Denmark lies with the Danish Arts Council's Committee for International Visual Art.
