In recognition of the importance and necessity of Danish contemporary artists and curators increasingly orienting themselves towards the global art scene, the Danish Arts Council's Committee for International Visual Art offers a series of residency programs abroad to Danish visual artists and curators.

The committee has programs in Berlin, Cairo, Cuba, Istanbul, Mexico City, New York, Paris, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. All programs are organised in collaboration with professional local art institutions and organisations.

The studio programs and residencies in Istanbul, Mexico City, New York, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paris are open to both Danish visual artists and Danish curators.

The studio programs and residencies in Berlin and Cairo are open to Danish visual artists.

The residency in Cuba is open to Danish curators.

Grants are paid to artists and curators in connection with most of the residencies. Applications for residencies does not follow a general application form but must follow the residency application guidelines.
